Job Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Chemical Sales Engineer to lead sales and business development for our portfolio of lubricant oil additives, plastic and rubber additives, and specialty chemicals. The role requires a strong blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen to support customers in formulating high-performance lubricants while expanding market share across key industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of lubricant oil additives, base oils, and related specialty chemicals to lubricant manufacturers, industrial clients, and distributors.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across automotive, industrial, marine, and metalworking segments.
- Provide technical support to customers, including formulation guidance, product selection, and performance optimization.
- Conduct product trials, technical presentations, and customer training sessions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, OEMs, and channel partners.
- Collaborate with R&D and supply chain teams to deliver customized solutions and ensure product availability.
- Manage the full sales cycle including lead generation, proposal development, negotiation, and closure.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and adherence to commercial terms.
- Maintain CRM records, sales forecasts, and regular reporting to management.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- 2–8 years of experience in technical sales of lubricant additives, base oils, or specialty chemicals.
- Strong understanding of lubricant formulations, additive chemistry (detergents, dispersants, anti-wear, VI improvers, etc.), and industry standards.
- Proven track record in B2B sales and business development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with lubricant manufacturers, oil marketing companies, or additive suppliers.
- Knowledge of metalworking fluids, industrial oils, and greases.
- Familiarity with regional markets and distribution networks.
