Job Description
The Sales Engineer role is a critical position within our organisation, responsible for driving sales performance and fostering long-term customer relationships. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to establish and maintain account relationships, with the objective of meeting or exceeding personal sales targets for each assigned account. This involves conducting thorough analyses of existing and prospective customers needs through professional consultations and site visits.
- Assume full accountability for regional/country sales performance and target achievement. Active participation in all sales activities within the designated territory and region is imperative.
- Collaborate closely with segment managers and distribution managers to develop and optimize sales channels, ensuring alignment with the company's growth strategies.
- Provide expert guidance to customers in overcoming their construction challenges through the strategic application of Master Builder Solutions products and systems.
- Diligently maintain and expand the existing customer base while simultaneously increasing the customer portfolio in strict accordance with the company's growth objectives.
- Implement regional strategies and structure market channels (including the cultivation of new applicators, expansion of existing partnerships, and establishment of distribution networks) within the assigned territory. This must be executed in close alignment with regional, segment, and distribution managers.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, including data collection, analysis, and evaluation of market trends, product applications, technology advancements, and service requirements. This critical information will be utilized to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Compile and maintain an extensive competitor grid, conducting thorough benchmarking on competitors positioning and the performance of their products. This intelligence is vital for maintaining our competitive edge.
- Take a leading role in the professional introduction of new products to customers, ensuring clear communication of product benefits and applications.
- Address customer requests, complaints, and enquiries with the utmost professionalism and urgency. Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained at the highest level in terms of service quality and pricing.
- Liaise effectively with sales coordinators and supply chain teams (including logistics, procurement, and production) to ensure timely fulfillment of all delivery commitments.
- Conduct and lead weekly sales meetings with the team, providing strategic guidance on weekly activity plans to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly reports as required by management, including meticulous updates to the project tracking list.
- Develop and maintain accurate three-month rolling forecasts based on current sales activities, ongoing projects, and anticipated opportunities.
- Monitor and manage customers payment processes diligently to ensure timely receipt of receivables, thereby contributing to the achievement of established sales targets and revenue goals. Work in close collaboration with the collection team to minimize overdue accounts and maintain financial health.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in technical sales within the construction or chemical industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in customer relationship management and project management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data and present it effectively to diverse audiences.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- MBA degree is considered an advantage.
