Job Description

Summary

This role is responsible for generating and developing group and event business across assigned market segments - focusing on proactive sales activities, account development, enquiry conversion, and relationship management to achieve revenue targets while ensuring secured business aligns with the property's commercial objectives and luxury positioning.
Main Duties:
  • Prospect, identify, and generate new MICE and group business opportunities within assigned market segments to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Conduct proactive sales activities, including sales calls, client visits, virtual meetings, prospecting emails, site inspections, hotel tours, and networking activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, Destination Management Companies, event agencies, travel planners, and other key intermediaries.
  • Support the team with account development, client follow-ups, and targeted sales initiatives.
  • Prepare professional proposals, quotations, presentations, and contracts aligned with client requirements and the property's commercial objectives.
  • Follow up consistently on enquiries and tentative bookings to improve conversion, secure profitable business, and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing clients to encourage repeat business, referrals, and long-term commercial partnerships.
  • Research emerging markets, new accounts, niche segments, and citywide opportunities to expand the MICE business pipeline.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, promotions, market positioning, and the destination's calendar of exhibitions, conferences, and major events.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client profiles, enquiries, quotations, contracts, and business opportunities within CRM, Envision, and lead-tracking systems.
  • Maintain sufficient knowledge of Opera and reservation systems to review room availability, room types, group blocks, and potential booking opportunities.
  • Ensure all quotations, contracts, commercial terms, deposits, and supporting documents comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate closely with Revenue, Events, Reservations, and operational departments to ensure a complete handover of confirmed business and client expectations.
  • Follow up with clients after group stays and events to gather feedback, resolve outstanding matters, and identify future business opportunities.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the property's accommodation, meeting facilities, services, financial objectives, and destination offerings to support effective selling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Events Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in MICE sales, group sales, event sales, business development, or account management, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Good understanding of the MICE sales cycle, including prospecting, enquiry handling, proposals, contracting, conversion, and account development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills, with a proactive and commercially focused approach.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, client requirements, follow-up activities, and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or hotel sales systems experience with Opera, Envision, or similar platforms is preferred.
