Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead regional sales operations, drive revenue growth, expand the customer base, and manage high-performing sales teams. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and commercial negotiation skills across modern trade and general trade channels.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Performance

  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies that support company and national objectives.
  • Set sales targets, quotas, and action plans for assigned districts, and monitor performance.
  • Forecast sales requirements, prepare budgets, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to meet targets.
  • Provide regional sales insights and recommendations for strategic planning and management reviews.

Customer & Business Development

  • Maintain and grow the customer base by strengthening relationships with key accounts.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in modern and general trade channels.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between customers and internal teams to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Grow existing client relationships while generating new business opportunities.

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Develop and implement action plans to enhance productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
  • Monitor sales operations, conduct audits, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Resolve customer and operational issues promptly and implement necessary changes.

Product & Market Development

  • Recommend product lines and enhancements based on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, packaging, or service enhancements.
  • Contracts, Tenders & Negotiations
  • Lead contract management, commercial negotiations, and finalize agreements with customers.
  • Prepare business plans for current and prospective tender opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and company policies.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage sales teams in assigned districts.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Motivate, mentor, and develop team members to achieve sales goals.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience in a Sales Manager or Regional Sales role, preferably within FMCG, food, or trading sectors.
  • Strong understanding of modern trade and general trade channels.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
