Sales Manager Energy Exhibition (Asia)

My client a global leading exhibition company is looking for a Sales Manager to drive new business and sponsorship revenue for a leading energy exhibition targeting the Japanese market. This is a high-impact, sales-driven role focused on winning new business, building C-level relationships, and representing one of the most dynamic energy events in Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Own and grow key accounts across the Japanese energy landscape
- Identify and close high-value sponsorship deals ($30K$80K range)
- Build strategic relationships with senior decision-makers
- Represent the event professionally in early-stage outreach and onsite at exhibitions
- Collaborate closely with content and marketing teams to craft compelling propositions
- Mentor junior team members and support leadership initiatives when needed
Requirements:
- Native or fluent Japanese speaker (essential)
- Based in Dubai or Singapore preferred Japan-based remote options possible
- Proven success in B2B event sponsorship or adjacent sectors (media, advertising, comms, hospitality)
- Track record in new business development in competitive or underdeveloped markets
- Energy sector knowledge (traditional or renewables) is a plus
- Consistent record of closing high-value deals
- Ability to self-source leads and navigate complex sales cycles
- Comfortable pitching at senior levels (director and C-suite)
