Position Overview:

The Account Operations Specialist supports both the Commercial Excellence and Healthcare Sales teams in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of commercial activities across key pharmacy chains, distributors, and healthcare partners. The role provides operational and analytical support to optimise order management, promotional execution, and stock performance, contributing to overall account profitability and customer satisfaction.

This position plays a central role in translating strategic account plans into daily operations by coordinating with internal teams, monitoring performance data, and maintaining accuracy across systems and reports. Working closely with Brand, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing teams, the Account Operations Specialist ensures that joint business plans and trade marketing activities are implemented effectively. The role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative approach that embodies NCH's values of trust, partnership, and simplicity.

Roles and Responsibilities

Sales Performance Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyse sales performance by account, channel, SKU, and territory to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales dashboards covering sell-in, sell-out, stock levels, returns, and near-expiry exposure.
  • Track performance against targets, budgets, and Joint Business Plans, highlighting variances and recommended actions.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and decision-ready reports for senior management and commercial leadership.

Account Performance & Customer Economics

  • Support Strategic Account Managers with account-level analysis covering sales performance, product mix, and profitability.
  • Monitor customer ordering patterns, stock rotation, and promotional uptake to improve account efficiency and service levels.
  • Analyse the commercial impact of trading terms, promotions, and pricing changes on account performance.
  • Contribute data-driven insights to account reviews, renewals, and commercial negotiations.

Forecasting, Demand Planning & Stock Intelligence

  • Support sales forecasting through analysis of historical sales data, seasonality, and promotional plans.
  • Monitor stock ageing, returns, and near-expiry risks, proactively flagging issues to Sales and Supply Chain teams.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving forecast accuracy and reducing write-offs and stock obsolescence.
  • Act as a data bridge between Sales and Supply Chain to improve demand visibility and planning discipline.

Commercial Operations & Data Governance

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of sales, pricing, SKU, and promotion data across systems and reports.
  • Maintain structured reporting templates and datasets to support reliable performance tracking.
  • Support reconciliation of sales data with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure a single source of truth.
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, or process inefficiencies and propose practical, scalable improvements.

Business Insights & Decision Support

  • Translate complex sales and commercial data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of Quarterly Business Reviews, internal performance presentations, and management updates.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to support commercial decisions related to pricing, promotions, launches, and customer prioritisation.
  • Act as a trusted analytical partner to the commercial team, supporting fact-based decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Commercial Excellence, Finance, Supply Chain, and Brand teams to align assumptions and execution.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives by providing accurate data, structured analysis, and commercial insight.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial reporting, planning, and performance management processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in sales operations, commercial analytics, business analysis, or account performance management.
  • Experience within pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, healthcare distribution, or FMCG is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated exposure to customer or account management environments, with a clear analytical and reporting focus.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and structured data analysis.
  • Proven ability to generate, interpret, and present sales, stock, and account performance reports.
  • Solid understanding of sales operations, forecasting principles, and demand planning logic.
  • Working knowledge of commercial finance concepts, including margins, trade spend, and promotional ROI.
  • Experience using ERP or CRM systems, preferably MS Dynamics or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to create clear dashboards and performance visuals for management and cross-functional stakeholders.t.
