Job Summary
The Development & Administration Section Head is responsible for leading and supervising all activities related to SAP ABAP and Mobile Development, System Administration, Upgrades, Integrations, and Technical Support.
The role ensures that SAP systems are highly available, secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives, while managing a team of developers and Basis administrators to deliver efficient and reliable solutions.
Main Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the SAP development and administration team.
- Define and implement strategies, roadmaps, and policies for SAP operations, development, and administration.
- Manage resource allocation, project prioritization, and workload distribution.
2. Development & Customization
- Supervise ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, and mobile application development, ensuring adherence to best practices and code quality standards.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy programs for SAP modules and functions using ABAP and other relevant technologies.
- Manage custom enhancements, reports, forms, and interfaces.
- Coordinate SAP system upgrades, patches, and support packages.
3. SAP Administration (Basis & Security)
- Ensure stable operations of SAP landscapes (S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, etc.).
- Monitor system performance, manage backups, and maintain disaster recovery readiness.
- Oversee user administration, security roles, and ensure compliance with audit and governance standards.
- Manage system landscape configurations, security operations, and third-party integrations.
4. Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and enforce development standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into efficient technical solutions.
- Work closely with functional teams to ensure seamless integration of business processes with IT systems.
- Identify risks, issues, and opportunities for optimization and process improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and SAP development innovations.
5. Projects
- Lead SAP-related projects including rollouts, migrations, and new module implementations.
- Manage project budgets and control SAP licensing and related costs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Certifications: Any relevant SAP or IT-related certification is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, and Basis Administration.
- Experience with SAP on Cloud is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage complex SAP environments across multiple landscapes.
