SAP BASIS Engineer

ABOUT YOUR NEW JOB:

We are seeking a skilled SAP Basis engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in executing the operational management of the SAP Basis infrastructure, ensuring that SAP Systems are optimized for performance, security, and availability.

YOUR NEW KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overseeing the operational management of the SAP Basis infrastructure, ensuring that SAP systems are optimized for performance, security, and availability

• Managing periodic maintenance activities, such as system refreshes, patching, upgrades, and installations

• Monitor and tune system performance and workload to ensure high availability and performance

• Provide hands-on technical leadership to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the SAP environments, such as system outages, performance bottlenecks, or security vulnerabilities

• Assist/execute with database activities, like health & performance monitoring, Log management, replication and high-availability monitoring.

• Implement and maintain automated processes (e.g., auto-scaling, automated backups, monitoring) to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency

• Act as SAP technical consultant accountable for the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA capabilities

• Support the development and architecture that enables increasingly Agile Delivery and Delivery Automation, Continuous Testing and Continuous Deployment (DevOps)

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects and other infrastructure architects to ensure systems architecture, which will be supporting optimally the enterprise strategic priorities.

• Cost management: Support the operation of systems, ensuring optimum cost management and tracking of Cloud/SaaS costs: licensing, resource use (compute, storage, High Availability).

• Manage technical escalations between CCH and the outsourcing vendors, about the services under responsibility.

• Build strong, working relationships with technology partners and platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure (strongly preferred), and Google or other SaaS, PaaS, IaaS providers

ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS

• University Degree in IT, Engineering or relevant field

• Min 5 years of relevant IT work experience

• 2+ years of experience in SAP Basis management, IT operations management

• Experiences with SAP HANA Databases is a plus

• Excellent spoken and written English

• Communication, organizational and analytical skills

• Desired experience of IT Operation services in complex multinational environments

• Strong technical background in SAP System Management, including experience with SAP in cloud environments (Azure -preferred, AWS, or GCP)

• Ability to optimize SAP Basis operational processes, including monitoring, and incident response, to improve performance and reduce costs

• Experience in automating SAP Basis operations using tools such as SAP LaMa, reducing manual intervention, and improving system reliability and efficiency

• Skilled in resolving complex SAP Basis issues, including troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities in SAP environments

• Skilled in working with other technical leads, architects, and business teams to ensure that cloud operations align with business objectives and technical requirements
