Key Responsibilities
SAP Basis Administration
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SAP systems (S/4HANA, NetWeaver, BW/4HANA, Fiori, etc.) across development, quality, and production landscapes.
- Perform system copies, client copies, refreshes, kernel upgrades, and support package/EHP installations.
- Administer SAP HANA database (or other DBs) including backups, recovery, performance tuning, and high availability setups.
- Monitor system performance, logs, dumps, and alerts; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues proactively.
- Manage user administration, roles, authorizations, security, and compliance (including UAE data protection and regulatory requirements).
SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) Expertise
- Implement, configure, and administer SAP Solution Manager 7.2 (or Cloud ALM) for the full landscape.
- Set up and manage ChaRM (Change Request Management) and QGM for controlled transports and change management critical for application development.
- Configure Technical Monitoring, Business Process Monitoring, EarlyWatch Alerts (EWA), Root Cause Analysis, and Diagnostics.
- Implement ITSM (IT Service Management) processes, including incident, problem, and request management.
- Maintain Solution Documentation, Test Suite, and integration with development tools.
- Use SolMan for proactive system health checks, maintenance planning, and reporting.
Managed Support Services (AMS)
- Deliver 24x7 managed support with adherence to SLAs for availability, incident resolution, and performance.
- Provide on-call rotation support and handle high-priority incidents.
- Perform proactive maintenance, capacity planning, performance optimization, and quarterly health checks.
- Manage backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery (DR) testing.
- Support system audits, security reviews, and compliance reporting.
Application Development Support
- Collaborate with ABAP, Fiori, and integration developers to maintain stable DEV/QA/PROD environments.
- Facilitate smooth transport management and release processes using SolMan ChaRM.
- Support custom developments, interfaces, and enhancements (e.g., integrations with real estate-specific systems for leasing, property management, or external CRMs).
- Optimize system performance for custom reports, workflows, and high-volume real estate transactions (contracts, billing, etc.).
- Assist in landscape strategy for agile development and potential DevOps practices.
Real Estate-Specific Focus
- Ensure technical stability for SAP RE-FX (Flexible Real Estate Management) and integrated modules (FI, CO, AA, PS).
- Support business processes such as lease-in/lease-out, property valuation, tenant management, service charges, and IFRS 16/ASC 842 compliance.
- Handle any custom developments or third-party integrations relevant to UAE real estate operations (e.g., local regulatory reporting, property portals).
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience
- 610+ years in SAP Basis administration.
- 35+ years hands-on with SAP Solution Manager (configuration of ChaRM, Monitoring, ITSM).
- Experience in managed services / AMS delivery for enterprise customers.
- Exposure to real estate, property management, or RE-FX module is a strong advantage.
- Technical Skills
- Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, NetWeaver, HANA DB administration.
- Strong expertise in transport management, security, performance tuning, and system copies.
- Experience with cloud/hybrid landscapes (SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, or GCP for SAP).
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix, Windows, and database administration (HANA preferred).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes for managed services.
Soft Skills & Other
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-vendor team in a dynamic real estate environment.
- Willingness to work in UAE (visa sponsorship possible) and participate in on-call rotations.
- SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate System Administration, Solution Manager) are highly preferred.
