Job Description – Scaffolding Inspector (CISRS Certified)

Position Title - Scaffolding Inspector

Industry - EPC / Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Energy Projects

Job Purpose

The Scaffolding Inspector is responsible for inspecting, auditing, and certifying scaffolding structures to ensure compliance with project specifications, statutory regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. The role requires extensive experience in EPC Oil & Gas projects and a valid CISRS Scaffolding Inspector certification to ensure safe access systems for construction, maintenance, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of all scaffold structures before initial use, after modification, and at periodic intervals as required by project procedures.
• Verify that scaffolds are erected, modified, and dismantled in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, and relevant standards.
• Ensure compliance with CISRS requirements, project HSE procedures, and applicable international standards.
• Issue, update, and maintain scaffold inspection tags and records.
• Identify unsafe scaffold conditions and initiate corrective actions immediately.
• Review scaffold requests and determine suitable scaffold types and access solutions.
• Perform routine audits of scaffold erection activities and work practices.
• Coordinate with construction, maintenance, operations, and HSE teams regarding scaffold requirements and safety concerns.
• Ensure scaffolds are adequately designed for intended loads and operational requirements.
• Monitor scaffold materials to ensure they are in good condition and fit for use.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, risk assessments, and incident investigations related to scaffolding activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports, registers, and documentation.
• Support project shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning activities requiring temporary access systems.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and client HSE expectations.

Experience

• Minimum 5–10 years of scaffolding experience within EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, LNG, Offshore, or Energy projects.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Scaffolding Inspector.
• Proven experience on large-scale EPC construction projects.
• Experience with industrial access systems, temporary structures, and complex scaffolding configurations.
• Familiarity with shutdown, turnaround, brownfield, and greenfield project environments.

Certification Requirements

Mandatory:

• CISRS Scaffolding Inspector Certification
• Valid Working at Height Training

Preferred:

• NEBOSH / IOSH
• First Aid Certification
• H2S Awareness Training
• Confined Space Awareness Training
