Role Description The School Social Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. The role involves providing direct social and emotional support to students through individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing case management. The School Social Worker collaborates closely with teachers, administrators, and families to identify student needs, develop intervention plans, and support positive behavior, attendance, and academic engagement.
Qualifications
- Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor's or master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational ideally in multicultural or international school environments.
- Strong skills in student assessment, case management, and crisis intervention, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and care.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to design and deliver social-emotional learning initiatives, group sessions, and workshops that support student well-being and inclusion.
- Knowledge of child protection principles, safeguarding practices, and ethical standards related to confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate records.
