Overview
The Finished Goods Supply Planner is responsible for the end-to-end finished goods supply plan for assigned manufacturing facilities, ensuring target service levels are achieved while balancing capacity, inventory, and waste risks. The role translates the rough-cut capacity plan provided by the network modeling team into a detailed, daily supply plan within the 0-16 week planning horizon, including the creation of distribution plans and support for operational planning and exception management. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset, as processes are first stabilized and subsequently enhanced across strategy cycles.
Responsibilities
Supply & Production Planning
- Create and maintain optimized, cross-site finished goods production plans that are schedulable and aligned with target inventory levels to meet BU service requirements.
- Develop constrained capacity production plans within the defined planning horizon.
- Review and validate detailed line scheduling plans to ensure feasibility and alignment with supply plans.
Inventory & Waste Management
- Manage inventory projections and identify risks related to excess, shortages, and business waste in collaboration with market teams.
- Monitor and proactively manage inventory and waste exposure to support service and cost objectives.
Integrated Planning & Performance Management
- Prepare and execute the Supply Review for the assigned Platform/Hub as part of the monthly iS&OP cycle.
- Monitor key service KPIs and identify worst-performing SKUs or flows in collaboration with the Integrated Planning Lead and senior stakeholders.
- Perform root cause analysis for service or supply performance issues and support the definition and execution of corrective action plans.
Stakeholder Integration & Communication
- Act as the key integration point between Market teams and GBS, ensuring alignment and effective information flow.
- Clearly communicate supply plan changes and impacts to scheduling teams through established governance and communication channels.
Change, Innovation & NPD Support
- Enable product supply for the commercial change agenda, including promotions, portfolio changes, and strategic initiatives.
- Support NPD launches and phase-in/phase-out activities by ensuring supply planning systems and master data are set up in advance.
- Ensure timely communication of changes to all relevant operational and planning teams.
Qualifications
Experience
- 2 - 3 years in associated function
Qualifications:
- MBA Operations/Supply Chain/Logistics / Engineering (preferred)
- Any relevant industry specific Certifications/Memberships (desirable)
- Very experienced in Supply Planning (incl. inventory mgmt.)
- Proficiency in product category planning - FMCG background preferred
Abilities:
- Experience of planning in supply planning tools - preferrably JDA-BY
- Strong Analytical skills
- Masters planning methodologies, optimization etc
- Very good collaboration skills and ability to interact with multi-cultural teams spread across geographies
- Experience in ERP (SAP) usage is a must
- Excellent numeric abilities;
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel
