Role Overview
We are seeking a highly technical and dynamic SEA Sales Manager to drive our front-end semiconductor equipment business. Based in Penang, you will serve as the primary commercial and technical point of contact for major wafer fabrication plants (Fabs) in Malaysia, while concurrently spearheading business development and market penetration across the wider Southeast Asia (SEA)region.
Because of the extreme technical complexity offront-end processes (lithography, deposition, etch, diffusion, etc.), priorexperience working inside a semiconductor wafer fab is strictly required. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and strategic commercial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management& Market Penetration
- Drive Sales Growth: Manage, grow, and secure multi-million-dollar equipment sales, upgrades, and service contracts across Singapore and SEA.
- Regional Expansion: Identify and penetrate new customer accounts in emerging SEA semiconductor hubs (e.g., Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam).
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain deep, trust-based relationships with Fab module leads, engineering directors, procurement heads, and key decision-makers.
2. Technical Consulting& Solution Selling
- Technical Alignment: Translate complex customer process challenges (yield improvement, throughput bottlenecks) into tailored equipment solutions.
- Product Demos & RFPs: Lead technical presentations, formulate proposals, and manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process with the support of application engineers.
3. Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Competitor & Trend Analysis: Keep a pulse on regional Fab expansions, technology roadmaps (e.g., transitions to smaller nodes, advanced packaging interfaces), and competitor positioning.
- Forecast Accuracy: Provide reliable quarterly and annual sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and strategic account plans to global leadership.
Job Requirement
Qualifications &Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Materials Science), Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
- Fab Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience inside a semiconductor front-end wafer fabrication plant (e.g., as a Process Engineer, Equipment Engineer, or Yield Enhancement Engineer).
- Travel Requirement: Willingness and capability to travel frequently within Southeast Asia and China.
- Language: Proficiency in English and Chinese (spoken and written) is required to communicate and collaborate effectively with our diverse client base and stakeholders, as well as our regional counterparts.
Competencies & SoftSkills
- Sales Track Record: 2-5 years of B2B sales, account management, or business development experience specifically within the semiconductor capital equipment or high-tech components industry.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to navigate long, complex sales cycles and negotiate high-value capital expenditure (CapEx) contracts.
- Regional Network: An existing network of contacts within major Fabs and foundries in Malaysia and the SEA region.
- Residency: Malaysian or Malaysia Permanent Resident (Pemastautin Tetap) preferred.
