Job Description

Egypt Education Platform is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Secondary English Teacher for the academic year 2026-2027 to join our vibrant team at GEMS British International School in Madinaty . This position offers an exciting opportunity for passionate educators to nurture students English language skills and inspire a love for literature.

This job is based in Cairo, Egypt. We're looking to hire foreign educators with experience in teaching British curriculum internationally or in UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with British Curriculum the for the Secondary Stage, focusing on developing students reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities
  • Employ a diverse range of teaching strategies to engage students and enhance their understanding of complex English concepts, literature, and critical analysis
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various forms of assessment, providing timely and constructive feedback to foster improvement
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, discussion, and respectful expression of ideas
  • Collaborate with other educators to integrate interdisciplinary themes and initiatives that enhance student learning experiences
  • Encourage the development of language skills through extracurricular activities, such as debating clubs, literary events, and writing competitions
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for academic success
  • Engage in professional development to ensure the delivery of the most effective teaching practices and curricular innovations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience teaching English at the Secondary Stage is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, ideally within the context of the British Curriculum
  • Strong knowledge of English literature and language with an ability to cultivate student interest and engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with students, colleagues, and parents
  • Dynamic and resourceful teaching approach that embraces various learning styles
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and active involvement in the school community
  • PGCE certificate will be a Plus
