Position Summary

The Dubai EDITION is seeking an experienced and dynamic Security Manager to lead all aspects of hotel safety, security, risk management and loss prevention while delivering an environment where guests and associates feel safe, protected and cared for.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Security Manager is responsible for overseeing all security operations across the property, ensuring compliance with Marriott Brand Standards, SIRA regulations and UAE legal requirements. This role provides strategic leadership in emergency preparedness, crisis management, investigations, asset protection and team development while supporting the hotel's commitment to delivering exceptional luxury guest experiences.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong operational expertise, excellent crisis management skills and extensive experience managing security operations within internationally recognized luxury hotels.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations & Asset Protection

  • Lead and manage all hotel security operations on a 24-hour basis, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, associates, visitors and contractors.

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve departmental policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency response plans.

  • Ensure effective security coverage across all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, bars, event venues, parking facilities, back-of-house operations and administrative offices.

  • Monitor CCTV, access control systems, fire life safety systems, alarms and surveillance technologies to ensure operational effectiveness.

  • Conduct routine inspections and security patrols to identify vulnerabilities and implement preventive measures.

  • Protect hotel assets by implementing effective loss prevention strategies and maintaining high security standards throughout the property.

Risk Management & Investigations

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, security audits and vulnerability reviews.

  • Lead investigations involving theft, fraud, misconduct, accidents, guest complaints and security incidents.

  • Prepare detailed investigation reports, recommend corrective actions and ensure proper documentation of all incidents.

  • Analyze security trends and implement proactive measures to reduce operational risks and financial losses.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information, investigations and guest-related matters.

Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management

  • Develop, implement and regularly review emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.

  • Lead emergency responses involving fire, medical emergencies, evacuations, natural disasters and security threats.

  • Serve as the Incident Commander during emergencies until responsibility is transferred to senior management or emergency authorities.

  • Coordinate emergency drills, tabletop exercises and crisis management training across all hotel departments.

  • Liaise effectively with Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Ambulance Services, SIRA and other regulatory authorities when required.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Recruit, mentor, coach and develop a high-performing Security team.

  • Conduct regular departmental meetings, daily briefings and performance evaluations.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, vigilance and exceptional guest service.

  • Identify future leaders through succession planning and continuous learning initiatives.

  • Ensure all Security associates maintain professional appearance, grooming standards and operational readiness.

Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with UAE laws, SIRA regulations, Marriott Brand Standards and hotel policies.

  • Support the implementation of Health & Safety initiatives and workplace risk management programs.

  • Participate in safety committee meetings, compliance audits and operational risk reviews.

  • Monitor contractors and third-party vendors to ensure adherence to hotel security protocols.

  • Safeguard confidential guest information, company assets and operational data.

Guest & Associate Safety

  • Maintain a professional and visible presence throughout the hotel while delivering discreet and personalised guest service.

  • Handle guest concerns, security-related issues and emergency situations with professionalism and sound judgment.

  • Partner closely with all operational departments to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment.

  • Promote a culture of safety awareness among associates through continuous communication and training.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, payroll and security-related expenditures.

  • Optimise staffing levels and deployment to ensure operational efficiency without compromising safety.

  • Manage contracts and maintenance schedules for all security systems and equipment.

  • Ensure security technologies remain fully operational and compliant with regulatory requirements.

Reporting & Performance Management

Monitor and analyze key operational and security performance indicators, including:

Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly and monthly security reports, presenting recommendations that enhance operational safety, regulatory compliance and overall hotel performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Valid SIRA Manager/Supervisor Certification is required.
  • Professional security certifications are preferred.
  • UAE driving license is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in hotel security operations, with at least 3–5 years in a Security Manager position within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Previous experience with Marriott International properties is mandatory, preferably within luxury brands such as The Dubai EDITION, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, W Hotels or JW Marriott.
  • Valid SIRA Certification (Security Industry Regulatory Agency – Dubai) is mandatory for this role.
  • Thorough understanding of SIRA regulations, Dubai security compliance requirements and UAE hospitality security standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Marriott security standards, brand requirements, emergency response procedures and loss prevention programs.

  • Experience managing security operations in luxury hotels with multiple outlets, event spaces, VIP guests and high-profile clientele.
  • Proven experience coordinating with local authorities, police, civil defense and emergency services within the UAE.
  • Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, access control systems, incident investigations, risk assessments and crisis management.
