Senior accountant(A53894)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to overlook the accounting operations for a growing group of entities in the social media and office productivity app sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the group's financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, SOCPA, and KSA regulations (e.g., ZATCA, VAT, e-invoicing). This role involves overseeing multiple entities, managing audits, and support the group's fast-paced digital operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

- Manage the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all group companies in compliance with IFRS and SOCPA.

- Ensure accurate accounting for complex digital revenue streams (e.g., ad revenue, subscription income, SaaS licensing, in-app purchases).

- Maintain the general ledger and supervise closing processes across all entities.

- Monitor revenue recognition, cost capitalization, and intercompany transactions.

Regulatory Compliance

- Oversee compliance with ZATCA regulations including VAT, withholding tax, zakat, and e-invoicing (FATOORA).

- Liaise with external tax advisors and ensure accurate and timely tax filings and audits.

- Ensure financial records meet audit and regulatory standards in KSA and other applicable jurisdictions.

Internal Controls & Policies

- Develop, implement, and monitor internal accounting policies and controls; establish robust internal controls for payment approvals, procurement, and spending.

- Ensure accurate accounting for intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and cost-sharing agreements.

- Supervise accounts payable/receivable, expense claims, and petty cash.

- Manage chart of accounts across the group for consistent reporting and scalability.

- Ensure integrity of accounting systems (e.g., Odoo, QB, or ERP used by group).

Team work & Collaboration

- Mentor a team of accountants across multiple locations/entities.

- Collaborate closely with finance, product, marketing, and engineering teams to understand business models and ensure proper financial treatment.

- Train business teams on finance compliance, budget adherence, and accounting implications of digital initiatives.

Audit & External Reporting

- Manage the year-end audit process with external auditors.

- Prepare and review financial documentation and disclosures for investors, board meetings, and potential funding rounds.

- Support due diligence and compliance efforts for strategic partnerships or M&A activities.

Key Skills:

- Excellent understanding of accounting for intangible assets, digital platform revenue models, and cost capitalization for app development.

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and process efficiency.

- Confident in managing external auditors, tax consultants, and regulators.

- Arabic native; Fluency in English is required;

- High level of integrity, discretion, and organizational ability.
