Senior Accountant

Location: Dubai, UAE

Salary: 8,000-12,000 AED dependent on experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support our global finance function. This role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting across our UAE, US, EU, and UK entities, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls. The ideal candidate will have solid technical accounting expertise, multi-entity experience, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for multiple international entities.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare consolidated reporting schedules and support group-level financial consolidations.
  • Conduct detailed variance, cash flow, and performance analysis to support management reporting.
  • Generate and maintain management reports, financial summaries, and supplemental schedules for global leadership.

Multi-Entity & Multi-Currency Operations

  • Manage accounting activities for UAE, US, EU, and UK entities.
  • Process and reconcile multi-currency transactions, ensuring accuracy of FX valuations and revaluations.
  • Handle intercompany transactions, reconciliations, eliminations, and settlements.

Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Treasury Support

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across entities.
  • Maintain vendor accounts, customer accounts, and aging reports.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support cash flow monitoring and treasury reporting.

Compliance, Tax & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements in the UAE, EU, UK, and the US where applicable.
  • Prepare and support VAT filings across UAE, EU, and UK entities.
  • Assist with corporate tax filings, statutory audits, and external auditor requests.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support process refinement to enhance efficiency.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

  • Provide accounting support for budget preparation, reforecasting, and financial planning.
  • Assist with cost analysis, expense tracking, and operational reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams across regions to support global operations.
  • Collaborate regularly with U.S.-based colleagues; occasional U.S. time zone overlap may be required.

Team Support & Development

  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of a Junior Accountant as the finance function grows.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, review work for accuracy, and help establish strong accounting procedures.
  • Act as a mentor and resource to junior team members to support their professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • Professional certification required: ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within multi-entity international companies.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, multi-entity structures, and multi-currency accounting.
  • Experience with VAT compliance in UAE/EU/UK.
  • Exposure to U.S. reporting, taxation, or operational processes is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems; experience with Xero or ERP systems preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting staff is highly beneficial.
