We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant & Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial management of our architectural consultancy.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the UAE contracting, construction, or architectural consultancy sector and be capable of preparing financial reports, managing project accounting, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting business decision-making.
The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of Zoho Books, UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare regular cash position reports.
Project & Contract Accounting
- Track project costs, revenue, and profitability.
- Manage client billing, progress invoices, retention amounts, and monitor collections.
- Track project expenses, process subcontractor and consultant invoices and supplier payments.
- Prepare project-wise financial reports and variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of project-related financial transactions.
- Coordinate with project managers to monitor project financial performance.
Compliance
- Prepare and file VAT returns and supporting documentation.
- Support Corporate Tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with annual audits and liaise with auditors when required.
- Ensure compliance with UAE accounting regulations and company policies.
Zoho Books Administration
- Manage daily accounting activities using Zoho Books.
- Maintain accurate financial data within the system.
- Generate financial and project reports.
- Support improvements to accounting processes and reporting.
General Finance Support
- Oversee Branch accounts, audit and compliance matters.
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on overdue customer payments.
- Coordinate with project managers on financial matters related to ongoing projects.
- Support management with financial analysis and ad hoc reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Professional qualification (CA, ACCA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 5-8 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in the UAE.
- Experience in an architectural consultancy, engineering consultancy, construction, or contracting company would be ideal.
- Strong knowledge of Zoho Books and Microsoft Excel.
- Good understanding of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in project accounting and contract-based billing is preferred.
