About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team in Alexandria. This role has a strong focus on inventory control, procurement processes, and warehouse accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing purchase cycles, conducting inventory counts, and overseeing the receipt and issuance of goods, ensuring accuracy between financial records and physical stock.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing :
- Process, verify, and record purchase invoices and purchase orders.
- Liaise with suppliers and follow up on procurement orders.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchasing transactions.
Inventory Management & Counting :
- Perform regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Monitor stock levels and generate reorder reports.
- Record all inventory movements (incoming and outgoing).
- Reconcile inventory records with the general ledger.
Receiving & Issuance :
- Supervise and document the receipt of goods, ensuring quantities and specifications match purchase orders.
- Oversee the issuance and dispatch of materials to relevant departments or customers.
- Manage warehouse documentation and prepare receiving/issuance reports.
General Accounting:
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
- Post daily journal entries related to procurement, inventory, and cost of goods.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
- Support with other accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably with exposure to inventory, cost accounting, or warehouse operations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and inventory control procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good command of English and Arabic (written and spoken).
