The Role:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, various operational reports and supporting audits. This position involves overseeing various accounting functions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the execution of month-end and year-end closing activities as per policies and procedures. You will conduct Balance sheet and P&L variance analysis and sub-ledger vs GL reconciliation monthly.
- Finalisation of financial statements comprising of Profit and Loss Account, balance sheet, fund flow, fixed assets, debtors, and creditors reports.
- Preparation & updating of schedules such Fixed Assets, Insurance, Utility bills, Rent, Trade License, Salary Advance, Loan Account and Accruals.
- Manage accounts receivable and collections tracking, monitor ageing reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Handle accounts payable, supplier invoices, and payment scheduling
- Handling petty cash and accounting of bills and ensuring that the entries are booked in the proper ledger for all the vouchers
- Preparation and distribution of Daily Sales Report to Locations.
- Assist in the annual audit process and maintain proper documentation and record-keeping.
- Prepare and distribute monthly Operations reports comprising of Sales reports, discount reports and various staff performance reports.
- Prepare and review VAT returns, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and intercompany and inventory reconciliations
- Assist in periodic inventory counting in various locations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced skills in MS Excel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
