Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to join the Finance function of a leading Tier 1 contractor in Riyadh. The role will support robust financial reporting, project accounting, controls and compliance across major construction and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in a large-scale contracting, EPC or project-based environment, with the ability to operate effectively in a demanding, highly controlled organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day GL, month-end close, reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting activities.
- Manage project accounting and job costing, including budget vs. actual analysis, cost accruals and project profitability.
- Oversee accounting for subcontractors, suppliers, advances, retention, claims and variations.
- Review project progress billing, receivables, contract assets and revenue recognition.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, ZATCA, VAT, WHT and internal accounting policies.
- Prepare high-quality financial schedules, management reports and variance analysis.
- Support cash-flow, forecasting and working-capital management.
- Coordinate with Project Controls, Commercial, Procurement and Operations to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Support internal and external audits and maintain a strong control and governance environment.
- Identify accounting and process risks and drive timely resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- 8–10+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a Tier 1 contractor, EPC, infrastructure or major project environment.
- Strong understanding of project accounting, job costing and construction finance.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and Saudi tax/VAT requirements.
- Strong ERP experience, preferably SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
- SOCPA, ACCA, CPA or CMA qualification is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
