Role Description
The Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for processing, tracking, and recording payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner, while supporting effective cash flow management and ensuring compliance with company policies
Reporting Line
- Reports to: Finance Manager
- Direct Reports: None
3. Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify new customer information entered into the system, including company details, finance contacts, and credit references.
- Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits, subject to approval by the Finance Manager.
- Generate and review customer invoices, ensuring accuracy of products/services, pricing, and payment terms.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding and overdue balances.
- Track delayed payments and identify discrepancies or unpaid amounts.
- Coordinate with the sales team regarding customer refunds and account adjustments.
- Perform regular reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Apply company policies related to doubtful and bad debts.
- Prepare documentation and detailed reports required for financial closing, audits, and tax purposes.
- Maintain complete and organized accounts receivable records, including invoices, agreements, and supporting documents.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, or meetings to resolve billing issues and payment inquiries.
- Prepare and review monthly accounts receivable reports, including:
- Customer aging reports
- Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Collection efficiency
- Accounts receivable turnover
- On-time payment ratios
- Support initiatives to improve collection processes and cash flow performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and financial controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 35 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience using ERP systems (preferably Odoo).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards and/or IFRS.
- Good command of the English language.
