Senior and Mid-Level Steel Structural Engineer (Steel Structures)

Role Overview
We are collaborating with a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation in Dubai and are seeking Senior and Mid-Level Steel Structural Engineers to support the delivery of complex steel structure projects across the UAE and wider GCC. This role involves structural analysis, design, verification, and technical support through fabrication and site execution.
Level Requirements
- Senior Steel Structural Engineer: Minimum 10 years structural engineering experience in the GCC (UAE strongly preferred)
- Mid-Level Steel Structural Engineer: Minimum 5 years structural engineering experience in the GCC (UAE strongly preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures in accordance with applicable international codes and project specifications
- Develop and review structural calculation packages, design reports, and engineering deliverables
- Build and validate structural models using required software tools
- Design and check steel elements, connections, and stability systems (frames, bracing, supports, base plates, etc.)
- Coordinate with drafting/detailing teams to ensure accurate and buildable drawings
- Review and respond to technical queries (RFIs), site instructions, and design clarifications
- Support fabrication and erection by providing engineering input and resolving design-related issues
- Participate in technical reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments
- For Senior level: mentor engineers, review designs, and support workload planning and technical approvals
Mandatory Software Proficiency
Candidates must be proficient in:
- STAAD Pro
- IDEA StatiCa
- SAFE
- ETABS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's or professional registration is an advantage)
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals and steel design methods
- Familiarity with relevant standards/codes (e.g., AISC/Eurocode/BS or project-required codes)
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, fabrication, site execution)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a delivery-focused environment
Preferred Experience
- UAE project experience and familiarity with local construction practices
- Experience supporting projects from design through fabrication and installation
- Exposure to industrial, commercial, modular, or large-scale steel structure works
