An international law firm based in Dubai is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Shipping and International Transactions team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value, complex maritime and international trade matters within a dynamic and growing practice.
The Role
You will advise on a broad mix of transactional and contentious shipping matters, working closely with international clients across multiple jurisdictions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating and drafting documentation for ship sale & purchase transactions
- Acting as escrow agent and party representative, including drafting and reviewing completion services agreements
- Supporting clients with vessel registration, flagging, and structuring (including SPVs)
- Liaising with flag registries and managing mortgage releases and registrations
- Advising on ship finance matters, including acquisitions, refinancing, facility agreements, and sale & leaseback structures (including yachts and superyachts)
- Assisting on arbitrations and disputes (MOA disputes, charterparty claims, commodity contracts)
- Preparing submissions, reviewing evidence, liaising with witnesses, and supporting hearing preparation
- Drafting legal opinions, notices, and transactional documentation
- Participating in closings and client negotiations
About You
- Qualified lawyer with strong experience in shipping, maritime, or international trade law
- Confident handling both transactional and contentious matters
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment
