Our client is looking for a Senior Auditor who is responsible for independently planning and executing internal audits across retail stores, warehouses, and corporate functions to ensure compliance with company policies, UAE regulations, and best industry practices. The role supports risk management, strengthens internal controls, and enhances operational efficiency across the retail business.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit Planning & Execution
- Plan, conduct, and lead internal audits covering retail operations, finance, inventory, supply chain, and corporate functions.
- Perform store audits, warehouse audits, and surprise cash/inventory checks.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
- Prepare audit programs, working papers, and detailed audit reports.
Risk & Compliance
- Identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with UAE laws, VAT regulations, internal policies, and corporate governance standards.
- Monitor adherence to approved budgets, authorization limits, and delegation of authority.
- Support external auditors during statutory and regulatory audits.
Retail Operations Audits
- Review POS transactions, cash handling, discounts, promotions, and shrinkage controls.
- Audit inventory management, stock variances, GRNs, transfers, and write-offs.
- Assess vendor management, procurement processes, and contract compliance.
- Evaluate store operational efficiency and loss-prevention controls.
Reporting & Follow-up
- Prepare clear, concise audit reports highlighting observations, risks, and actionable recommendations.
- Track and follow up on audit observations to ensure timely closure.
- Present audit findings to senior management with practical improvement plans.
Process Improvement & Advisory
- Recommend improvements to systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Participate in special reviews, investigations, and management-requested assignments.
- Assist in developing and updating audit manuals, SOPs, and internal control frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification preferred: CIA / ACCA / CPA / CA.
- 58 years of internal audit experience, preferably in retail or FMCG.
- Experience in multi-store retail environments and warehouse audits is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, internal controls, and risk management.
