Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade cloud environments on Microsoft Azure. The role focuses on cloud migrations, infrastructure sizing and optimization, security, networking, monitoring, and modern application hosting technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across Azure services.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Migrations
- Plan and execute migrations of applications, databases, and infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
- Assess on-premises and multi-cloud environments to define right-sizing, cost optimization, and performance strategies.
- Design scalable and highly available architectures aligned with best practices.
Compute & Application Platforms
- Manage Azure Virtual Machines (Windows and Linux) including deployment, scaling, patching, and performance tuning.
- Implement and maintain serverless solutions using Azure Functions and related services.
- Support containerized or modern workloads where applicable.
Databases
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure SQL Databases and other Azure database services.
- Perform database sizing, performance tuning, backup, and disaster recovery planning.
- Support migration of SQL workloads to Azure platforms.
Networking
- Design and manage Azure Virtual Networks, subnets, routing, and connectivity.
- Configure and maintain:
- Azure Application Gateway
- Azure Front Door
- Azure Firewall
- VPN Gateway and private connectivity
- Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues across hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
Security & Monitoring
- Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud recommendations and security posture.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Sentinel for threat detection, logging, and incident response.
- Implement identity and access controls following least-privilege principles.
- Monitor environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and alerting solutions.
Virtual Desktop Services
- Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, including host pools, scaling, and user experience optimization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services.
- Experience with Azure networking, security, and monitoring tools.
- Experience managing Linux and Windows server environments.
- Strong understanding of Azure SQL and database migration strategies.
- Experience with automation using PowerShell , Azure CLI and terraform.
- Maintain documentation for architectures, procedures, and operational standards.
- Solid troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, with AZ-305,).
- Experience in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (Azure and AWS/GCP/OCI is a plus).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform.
- Experience implementing enterprise security and governance frameworks.
