We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with strong backend fundamentals and a solid understanding of data and database design. The ideal candidate will be experienced in building and maintaining backend systems using
PHP and the Laravel Framework, handling data-driven logic, and leveraging AI tools to enhance development efficiency and code quality. Experience with
Node.js and NestJS is considered a strong plus.
Description
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data models
- Build scalable and maintainable backend applications and services
- Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
- Build integrations with internal and external systems and third-party services
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Follow best practices for clean, maintainable, testable, and reliable code
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams
- Utilize AI tools to support development, debugging, code reviews, and productivity
Requirements
- 3–4 years of professional experience in backend software development
- Strong proficiency in *PHP and the Laravel Framework**
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs using Laravel
- Good understanding of software design principles, backend architecture, and scalable application development
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, database design, and data modeling
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.)
- Experience working with large datasets and optimizing complex database queries is a plus
- Experience with caching technologies (Redis), queues, and background job processing is a plus
- Experience with *Node.js and the NestJS Framework** is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
