Senior Business Analyst / Information Analyst | PureCS

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (onsite)

Key Tasks

This role is responsible for translating business needs into analytics requirements, shaping BI solutions, and ensuring that data-driven insights support operational, clinical and financial excellence of health care facilities. This candidate will lead discovery sessions to understand business needs, operational workflow, and data requirements. In this role, the ideal candidate will translate business problems into structured analytics requests with clear scope, KPIs, and success metrics. This role will play a critical role in fostering strong stakeholder relationships, enhancing requirements-gathering processes, and ensuring the delivery of accurate, actionable insights.

This role will work closely with Data Integration and Visualization colleagues to drive the delivery of customized and standardized reports, dashboards, and scorecards for leaderships. The role will also drive the reduction of data silos and eliminate fragmented or duplicative analytics by creating a unified, high-quality data platform that enables consistent reuse and reliable insights across SEHA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Extract, validate, and analyze data from SEHA clinical, operational and financial systems to produce routine and adhoc reports for clinicians and management.
  • Work with clinical teams to support audits and research with robust data extracts and analysis.
  • Provide data for statutory/regulatory returns (e.g., JAWDA submissions, waitingtime metrics, and other DOH reporting).
  • Performance Monitoring: Contribute to monitoring efficiency, access and quality against DOH Abu Dhabi/JAWDA targets and internal KPIs; highlight variances and improvement opportunities.
  • Dashboard Development: Design, build and maintain Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, ensuring data models are robust and documented.
  • Identify trends and patterns in complex datasets; develop clear visualizations and briefing notes for decisionmaking.
  • Document logic, data lineage and validation steps to ensure reproducibility and audit readiness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key contact for data queries; translate findings into clear insights and recommendations for clinical teams and senior managers; support meetings and committees.
  • Participates in formulation of an enterprise data and analytics implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities.
  • Business Partnering with Business Leaders to understand organizational objectives and anticipate analytical needs of internal stakeholders.
  • Connects with key stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the functional needs of Health Care Facilities within the Seha network.
  • Collaborates closely with Data and Visualization colleagues to ensure that high quality analytical products are created in a timely manner.
  • Develops analytical frameworks and metrics for the team and broader business needs and technology.
  • Oversees analytics operations to correct discrepancies and ensure quality.
  • Extracts reports from multiple sources (e.g. operations, IT, customer feedback).
  • Leads the development of systems to transform raw data into actionable business insights.
  • Applies industry knowledge to interpret data and improve performance

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partners with cross-functional teams such as Central AI and Data Office, AIDA, Technology, Finance, Commercial, and other relevant departments to align on data initiatives and ensure seamless data integration.
  • Works closely with IT team, including data architect and DBAs to help spearhead the democratization of data and BI tools across provider entities.
  • Manages clear communication and transparency across all relevant groups to ensure alignment of expectations.

Data Literacy and Continuous Improvement

  • Contributes ideas for how to innovate, improve and create more efficient ways of delivering data analysis.
  • Promotes data literacy and an understanding of BI across the organization, empowering teams to leverage data in their decision-making processes.
  • Drives continuous improvement processes to enhance data cleansing and verification, ensuring all data used is reliable and accurate.
  • Hosts regular sessions to debrief the business on dashboards now accessible to them.

Key Deliverables (Within First 12-18 Months):

  • Enterprise BI & Reporting framework with clear milestones.
  • Implementation of standardized executive dashboards across all hospitals.
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting packages aligned with C-suite and Board KPIs.

Integration of operational and clinical data to support care optimization initiatives

Academic/Skills Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business, Statistics, Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Master's degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, or MS in Analytics/Data Science) strongly preferred.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3 plus years of progressive experience in business intelligence, reporting, in healthcare analytics.
  • Prior experience in an analytical role, ideally in healthcare or a regulated environment; familiarity with JAWDA/Muashir KPIs desirable.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, revenue cycle, and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in enterprise BI platforms (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Advanced SQL - ability to build views and stored procedures using Select, Update, Create, Execute. Ability to use Join, create functions (scalar and table), use Triggers, and use built-in functions.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Agile project management methodologies to prioritize analytics requests, manage sprints, and ensure timely delivery of BI solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence stakeholders
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
