An established infrastructure organisation in the United Arab Emirates is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Category Manager – Infrastructure to lead strategic sourcing across a critical portfolio supporting major power transmission and distribution programmes.
Working within a high-performing procurement function, you will develop and execute category strategies, manage strategic supplier relationships and lead complex sourcing activities across high-value engineering spend. Partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Project Delivery teams, you will play a key role in ensuring procurement delivers commercial value, supply security and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies across the Infrastructure & Power portfolio.
- Lead complex sourcing projects, competitive tenders and commercial negotiations.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships to maximise performance, value and innovation.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance and Project teams to align procurement with business objectives.
- Negotiate and manage high-value contracts across power infrastructure spend.
- Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities and cost drivers to identify commercial opportunities.
- Mitigate procurement and supply chain risks across critical infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with procurement governance, regulatory requirements and sustainability objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement across sourcing and category management activities.
Candidates must possess demonstrable category management experience within the Energy sector. Applications from candidates without relevant category expertise will be rejected.
You will ideally bring:
- Extensive procurement and category management experience across Power Transmission & Distribution, Utilities or Electrical Infrastructure.
- Strong experience sourcing categories such as transformers, switchgear, substations, overhead lines, underground cables, EPC, engineering services or other power infrastructure-related spend.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and contract negotiation within the Power sector.
- Experience working with large infrastructure, utilities or regulated organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and commercial teams.
- Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation capability.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline.
- Typically 9+ years procurement or category management experience.
