Senior Clinical Pharmacist

Core Responsibilities:-

• Develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals, to optimize patient care and improve outcomes.
• Ensure that the clinical pharmacy team provides evidence-based medication therapy management services to patients.
• Develop and implement medication safety initiatives to minimize medication errors and adverse drug events.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of pharmaceutical care.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy leadership team to develop and manage the clinical pharmacy unit's budget.
• Keep abreast of developments in clinical pharmacy and healthcare and provide leadership and guidance to clinical pharmacy staff on emerging trends and best practices.
• Responding to and suggesting solutions for issues related to clinical services that were identified by other pharmacists, referred to area supervisors, and not resolved.
• Assuring that other clinical pharmacists (Pharmacist l, and Pharmacist ll) are performing clinical jobs as per expectation.
• Long-term development of Pharmaceutical Care Services.
• Reviewing the staffing work schedule and preparations of statistics concerning the clinical pharmacists.
• To monitor the safe and effective distribution of drugs in the hospital.
• Coordinating with other supervisors to conduct the training of new personnel and maintaining an ongoing evaluation of each employee in each section.
• Acting as a liaison between the supervisors of the Departments within the hospital to promote clinical pharmacy services.
• Acting as a liaison with the Pharmacy Department Heads regarding collaboration between a distribution and clinical staff for the best patient care outcome.

Requirements:-

• One of the following:

- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. Plus At least five years of clinical pharmacy experience, with a minimum of two years in a leadership role.

- Fellowship of Clinical Pharmacy Plus At least three years of clinical pharmacy experience, with a minimum of two years in a leadership role.

- Board of Pharmacy Specialty Plus At least 6 years of clinical pharmacy experience, with a minimum of two years in a leadership role.

• Knowledge of pharmacy practice regulations and standards, including GAHAR standards and the Joint Commission standards, Egyptian regulations, and accreditation requirements.
