Job Summary
MOBCO Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Commercial Engineer to support the commercial management of our construction projects across various locations in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial and contractual aspects of projects, including contract administration, cost control, budgeting, claims management, change orders, subcontract administration, and commercial risk management. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in the construction industry and a strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and commercial best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review, interpret, and administer construction contracts in accordance with project requirements.
- Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate variations, change orders, extension of time (EOT) claims, and contractual claims.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to ensure commercial performance.
- Prepare and review interim payment applications and subcontractor payment certificates.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and participate in commercial negotiations.
- Identify commercial and contractual risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Contracts teams to achieve project objectives.
- Review tender documents and support bid preparation from a commercial perspective.
- Prepare commercial reports, cost analyses, and financial forecasts for senior management.
- Ensure proper documentation and record management for all contractual correspondence.
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution through sound contractual practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial engineering within the construction industry.
- Proven experience working on large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mega projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and commercial administration.
- GCC experience, preferably within Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is preferred.
