Job Description

Our client is a specialist Project Management Consultancy (PMC) delivering landmark buildings across the Kingdom. Due to a strong pipeline of work in Riyadh, we are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Commercial Manager with a proven track record on highrise projects (30+ storeys) and strong precontract experience.

This position will not only play a key part in the project but will also been seen as a future leaders for the commercial team in Riyadh.

The Role:

As Senior Commercial Manager, you will be the commercial lead on major highrise developments, driving robust precontract and early project-stage commercial strategy. Working closely with clients, design teams and PMC leadership, you will:

  • Lead all commercial and contract management activities across highrise building projects (30+ storeys).
  • Manage precontract responsibilities, including:
  • Cost planning, budgeting and benchmarking
  • Procurement strategy and tender documentation
  • Tender evaluations, contract negotiations and recommendations
  • Drafting/reviewing contracts (FIDIC or similar)
  • Provide clear commercial advice throughout design and procurement phases.
  • Support/oversee postcontract activities where required (variations, claims, payments, final accounts).
  • Lead and mentor junior commercial/ QS team members.
  • Prepare and present commercial reports, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business development, proposals and fee submissions as part of the PMC offering.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years commercial / contracts experience within construction or consultancy.
  • Proven experience on highrise buildings of at least 30 storeys – ideally in KSA/GCC or other major international markets.
  • Strong precontract background: cost planning, procurement strategy, tendering, and contract negotiation.
  • Solid understanding of FIDIC and best-practice commercial processes.
  • Experience within a PMC or consultancy environment is highly desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
