Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Senior Commissioning Engineer (PMC) to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide technical leadership and specialist engineering support within the assigned discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, ELV, or Operations).
- Review and validate engineering designs, technical submissions, specifications, and commissioning documentation.
- Support the preparation, review, and technical validation of the Operational Preparedness Report (OPR).
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project requirements, applicable codes, international standards, and client specifications.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, commissioning teams, and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering initiatives.
- Monitor construction and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Identify engineering risks and recommend mitigation measures to maintain project objectives.
- Support Testing & Commissioning planning, execution, and system readiness activities.
- Ensure all engineering activities are performed in accordance with Parsons Quality Management System (QMS), Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements, and project procedures.
- Review contractor method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), commissioning procedures, and operational documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Participate in meetings with the client, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to provide technical recommendations and engineering solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and engineering best practices.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methodologies.
- Thorough understanding of Testing & Commissioning processes and operational readiness.
- Knowledge of international engineering codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience reviewing engineering calculations, technical reports, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
- Strong understanding of project construction sequencing and site execution.
- Knowledge of project controls, procurement, contract administration, quality management, and risk management.
- Working knowledge of HSE regulations and zero-incident project delivery philosophy.
- Understanding of Construction Environmental Control Plans and environmental compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited institution.
- Professional registration or chartered status is preferred.
- Additional certifications in Testing & Commissioning, Project Management, or Construction Management are advantageous.
- 10 -15 years of professional engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience on large-scale infrastructure, mixed-use, hospitality, or mega projects.
- Previous experience as a Testing & Commissioning Engineer on major projects.
- Experience working within a Project Management Consultant (PMC) environment is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with internationally recognized engineering or consulting organizations is preferred.
