About the Role

Naufar is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Consultant Psychiatrist to provide expert clinical leadership in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care while contributing to clinical governance, education, research, service development, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with addiction and mental health conditions.
Lead the management of complex and high-risk clinical cases and support multidisciplinary care planning.
Contribute to clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, and accreditation initiatives.
Provide mentorship, supervision, and professional development support to medical staff and trainees.
Participate in research, academic activities, and evidence-based practice initiatives that advance addiction psychiatry and mental health services.
Support service development, innovation, and strategic initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and organizational performance.
Participate in the consultant on-call roster and provide expert psychiatric consultation when required.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Experience

Western Qualification Holders: Minimum 6 years of consultant-level experience in Psychiatry, including fellowship, certification, or demonstrated expertise in the treatment of Substance Use Disorders (SUD).
Arab Board (GCC Countries): Minimum 8 years of post-graduate experience with qualifications and/or experience in Substance Use Disorder treatment.
Arab Board (Non-GCC Countries): Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience with qualifications and/or experience in Substance Use Disorder treatment.
Other Non-GCC Specialist Qualifications: Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience with qualifications and/or experience in Substance Use Disorder treatment.

Desirable Experience

Experience in clinical governance, accreditation, healthcare commissioning, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical guideline development.
