Role Overview:

• The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial management of production projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, project reconciliation, and financial reporting throughout the production lifecycle. Working closely with the Production team, this role monitors project budgets, prepares financial claims, reviews production records, and ensures all production-related financial activities are accurately recorded and compliant with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor the financial progress of production projects and coordinate with the Production Department to ensure timely project reconciliation and closure.
2. Prepare and process financial claims related to production projects, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
3. Prepare detailed cost reports for all production-related expenses, providing clear visibility into project financial performance.
4. Review production ledgers, cost sheets, and supporting financial documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
5. Review and oversee all financial activities and documentation managed by the Location (Production) Accountant, ensuring adherence to internal controls, company policies, and financial procedures.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. 2+ years of experience within the media production field is a must.
3. Solid understanding of project accounting, cost control, and financial reporting, preferably within a production or project-based environment.
4. Strong Excel and financial reporting skills, with the ability to prepare and analyze cost reports, ledgers, and project financial data.
5. High attention to detail with strong ability to review financial documents, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy and completeness.
6. Good understanding of financial controls, company policies, and accounting procedures.
7. Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with Production teams and Location Accountants.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects, follow up on financial claims, and ensure timely reconciliation and project closure.
9. Strong organizational skills, accountability, and ability to work under tight production timelines.
