Position Title: Senior Cost Controller
Department: Finance/ Project Controls
Reports To: Cost Control Manager
Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to oversee project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance across multiple large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure accurate project reporting, maintain cost discipline, support commercial decision-making, and drive continuous improvement through Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O;). The ideal candidate combines strong construction knowledge with financial expertise, ERP proficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, commercial departments, and executive management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Project cost control, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, ERP management (Microsoft Dynamics AX and D365 F&O;), cost analysis, project support, and internal controls.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Budget accuracy, forecast accuracy, reporting timeliness, cost variance reduction, project margin improvement, cash flow accuracy, ERP data integrity, Cost-to-Complete accuracy, WIP accuracy, month-end close performance, audit findings, and process improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Quantity Surveying, or Economics. MBA/MSc preferred.
Professional Certifications:
- CPA, ACCA, CMA, CIMA, PMP, CCP, MRICS (preferred)
Required Experience:
- 10+ years in construction cost control, 5+ years in senior cost control roles, experience on projects exceeding USD 100 million, and experience using Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
Technical Competencies:
- Construction costing, CBS/WBS, Earned Value Management, forecasting, cash flow analysis, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, IFRS, project accounting, Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft 365.
Practical Assessment:
- Candidates should complete a case study covering cost reporting, EAC preparation, forecasting, budget vs. actual analysis, Dynamics AX/D365 F&O; workflows, and an executive dashboard in Excel or Power B
