ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are an award-winning ingredients supplier in the Middle East and Africa and are seeking a seasoned, dynamic Senior Dairy Trader.
Our ideal candidate will be an absolute go-getter with the drive and passion of a cut throat trader from within the region, adept in B2B sales, skillful in forming and maintaining relations with clients and principals, and a people's person, in order to lead, coach and mentor the team.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Lead & manage the dairy trade portfolio and its complete P&L, strategically and operationally.
- Drive & direct the team to achieve sales & income budgets annually
- Procurement & sales of food commodities and food ingredients including but not limited to milk powder, butter, cheese, milk protein, whey protein, tomato paste and other dairy derivatives , bakery, confectionery , meat ingredients . Continue to increase the product portfolio by innovatively collaborating with Principals (new & old) and the technical team.
- Build & sustain client relationships across the portfolio
- Lead & be responsible for online auctions
- Lead, coach and mentor the sales team
- Collaborate with other inter and intra departmental sales teams, as required, on market strategies, innovation, suppliers, clients etc.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
- Proven background of at least 15 years in trading/agro-commodities within the region including Africa markets , with at least 8 of those years in a lead role, managing a team
- Should have had lead responsibility for a divisional P&L with growth planning and forecasting experience
- Sound knowledge and track record of the food trading, agro-trading business.
- Possess high levels of commercial acumen & strategic thinking, leadership abilities, growth mindset, collaborative working, stakeholder management and long-term partnership alignment
- Impeccable communication skills in English. Arabic or any other languages are highly desirable
- Demonstrate a coaching & mentoring style of management
