Senior Data Architect

We are looking for a Director of Data Engineering / Data Architect with deep Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise to lead the design and delivery of large-scale, data-driven platforms for a high-impact program in Riyadh.

This is a senior leadership role combining hands-on architecture, team leadership, and strategic stakeholder engagement, ideal for professionals who thrive in complex, fast-moving environments.

Qualifications & Experience

Professional Background

• 10–15 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Architecture, or Technology Consulting
• Proven leadership experience managing large technical teams in Agile delivery models
• Strong experience working with senior executives, influencing strategic and architectural decisions

Technical Expertise (GCP Focus)

• Deep, hands-on expertise with the GCP Data Stack, including:
• BigQuery
• Dataflow
• Pub/Sub
• Cloud Composer (Airflow)
• Vertex AI
• Strong experience with real-time / streaming architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
• Experience integrating live data sources (IoT / operational technology)
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Java or Scala
• Highly desirable: Experience building platforms for Generative AI use cases
• (LLMs, vector databases, semantic search)

Integration & Domain Knowledge

• Proven experience integrating complex, heterogeneous systems
• (API-based, batch, and event-driven architectures)
• Strong understanding of:
• Data governance
• Security & IAM
• PII and data privacy regulations
• Preferred background:
• Mega-projects, Smart Cities, Entertainment, or Tier-1 Strategy Consulting
