Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows on AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, and Lake Formation.,Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse architectures tailored to regulated environments.,Implement real-time and batch data processing solutions using AWS services including Kinesis, Lambda, Step Functions, and MSK (Kafka).,Ensure end-to-end data quality, governance, lineage tracking, and compliance with security standards critical for industries like banking, healthcare, and energy.,Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to develop and maintain production-ready data infrastructure supporting AI/ML initiatives.,Operate within multi-account, multi-region AWS environments, applying infrastructure-as-code principles using Terraform or CloudFormation.,Embed directly into client project teams to deliver technical solutions while aligning with stakeholder requirements and enterprise governance policies.,Troubleshoot and optimize complex data workflows, SQL queries, and storage systems for performance and cost efficiency at scale.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services including Glue, Redshift, S3, Athena, EMR, and Lake Formation,Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark for data transformation and pipeline development,Experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines at scale,Solid understanding of data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or lakehouse patterns,Advanced SQL skills including complex queries, optimization, and partitioning strategies,Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation,Experience in regulated verticals such as Energy/Oil & Gas, Healthcare, or Banking/Financial Services,Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Airflow, or dbt,Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for data (DataOps practices),Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks, particularly for UAE/GCC financial or healthcare regulations,AWS certifications such as Data Analytics Specialty or Solutions Architect,4–8+ years of relevant experience as an AWS Data Engineer or equivalent role,Background in consulting firms, system integrators, or enterprise AI/data companies with experience deploying across client projects,Comfort working autonomously in client-facing environments with minimal supervision,Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders,Experience operating in high-trust, regulated environments with strict data governance standards,Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive client data,Comfort working under enterprise governance standards and mission-critical system requirements,UAE residency or willingness to relocate immediately for project deployment,Eligibility for visa sponsorship (to be confirmed with client)
