Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data platforms that power business intelligence, analytics, and AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, AWS, SQL, and modern data engineering practices, with experience building high-performance data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build and optimize data solutions using Python, AWS, SQL, and Snowflake.
- Modernize legacy data platforms and support on-premises to cloud migration initiatives.
- Develop scalable data models, preferably using Kimball dimensional modeling.
- Ensure data quality, governance, reliability, and performance across data platforms.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Work with AWS services including Redshift, S3, Athena, and Glue (preferred).
- Optimize cloud-based data warehouses and distributed data processing systems.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and follow data engineering best practices.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (MSSQL/MySQL).
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Athena); exposure to Snowflake and AWS Glue is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and dimensional modeling (Kimball preferred).
- Experience with cloud migration and modern data architectures.
- AWS Data Analytics/ML certification is a plus.
- Exposure to Media & Marketing Analytics, GCP, or BI tools is an advantage.
