Senior Data Engineer

About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our high-performing platform team and help shape the future of our data infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. You'll play a key role in managing databases, building our data warehouse, and ensuring that our data is secure, available, and high-performing.

You'll work closely with DevOps, analytics, and development teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions that power business insights and customer experiences.

What You'll Do:

• Administer and fine-tune PostgreSQL databases (performance, optimization, troubleshooting).
• Manage and monitor MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ (a strong plus).
• Design and implement backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for all data stores on Azure.
• Build and maintain a data warehouse and ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar tools.
• Work with dev and analytics teams to tune queries and optimize performance.
• Lead data governance and security initiatives encryption, access control, and compliance.
• Drive automation and best practices in database operations and data pipelines.

What You'll Bring:

710 years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Administration, or Data Architecture.

Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production environments.

Proven experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, etc.).

Solid understanding of ETL design, data modeling, and query optimization.

Experience in backup, high availability, and DR planning.

Good understanding of data security, governance, and encryption standards.

Nice to Have:

Experience with MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ.

Knowledge of Python or SQL scripting for automation.

Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps).

Familiarity with Power BI, Azure Purview, or similar data tools.
