Job description

Role Summary

We are seeking a Tech Lead with 6+ years of experience in data engineering, specializing in Azure and Snowflake platforms. The ideal candidate will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale data solutions, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices in cloud data architecture and governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data warehousing and analytics solutions using Snowflake and Azure cloud platforms.
• Architect, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Snowflake, and related technologies.
• Manage deployment, configuration, and administration of Snowflake environments, ensuring security, compliance, and high performance.
• Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards across all data platforms.
• Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Automate data integration and transformation processes using Python, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in cloud data engineering and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the organization's data infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or tech lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps).
• Deep expertise in Snowflake: data warehousing, query optimization, administration, and integration.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and library development.
• Experience with ETL tools, SQL, data modeling, and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with cloud streaming technologies (e.g., Snowpipe, Azure Event Hubs).
• Familiarity with API development and integration in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in data engineering.
• Experience working in agile environments and managing multiple projects concurrently.
