Role: Senior Database Administrator (DBA)
Technical Skills - Mandatory
Oracle Database Core:
- Deep expertise in Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c administration
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle Architecture (SGA, PGA, Background Processes)
- Expert-level SQL and PL/SQL programming
High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
- Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) - configuration and administration
- Oracle Data Guard - Physical and Logical Standby
Performance Management:
- Performance Tuning - SQL tuning, instance tuning, database tuning
- AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) analysis
- ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor) interpretation
Security & Access Control:
- Database security implementation and auditing
- User and privilege management (roles, profiles, privileges)
- Database Vault (preferred)
Database Operations:
- Patch management and upgrade procedures
- Database migration (version upgrades, platform migrations)
Technical Skills - Preferred
- Experience with Oracle Exadata or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate for replication
- Familiarity with Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management)
Domain Knowledge
- Understanding of real estate domain and land department operations (preferred)
- Knowledge of government IT policies and procedures in UAE (preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 and ISR compliance requirements
Specific Experience Requirements for This Role
- Experience taking over database management from external vendors
- Proven track record of database governance and establishing standards
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree (preferred but not mandatory)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience
- At least 3 years managing production databases in enterprise or government environments
- Experience with mission-critical systems handling high transaction volumes (5,000+ daily transactions)
- Experience managing multiple database environments (Development, UAT, Production)
- Experience in 24/7 production support and on-call duties
Mandatory Certifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Database Administrator (11g, 12c, or 19c)
- OR Oracle Certified Expert (OCE)
