Job Description:

The Senior Database Analyst plays a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of databases that span multiple projects within a common business domain. This mid-career position necessitates a high level of expertise in various database development lifecycle phases, including data modeling, physical schema design, database programming, ETL development, and BI solutions. The candidate will leverage advanced data modeling techniques to design efficient database schemas and will engage in the development and maintenance of stored procedures, views, and functions tailored for web applications or batch processing tasks. This role involves diagnosing and resolving database access and performance issues through effective query optimization and indexing strategies while ensuring all database systems align with business and performance objectives. Furthermore, the Senior Database Analyst will be responsible for implementing change control processes, producing ad-hoc queries and reports, and documenting data models amidst an agile development environment. Additionally, the ideal candidate will utilize their skills in creating reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau and Power BI, supporting critical business needs and analytics.

Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in database development, specifically with MS SQL Server.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in ETL processes.
• Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including normalization techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise in writing complex stored procedures and dynamic SQL.
• Strong skills in writing complex queries with a solid understanding of query optimization and indexing techniques.
• Experience in developing and constructing ETL packages, encompassing data loads, transformations, and notification tasks.
• Adept at producing ad-hoc queries and generating analytical reports to meet business requirements.
• Proven ability to quickly debug application issues and provide both short- and long-term solutions.
• Ability to adapt to an agile development environment, participating effectively in sizing, estimating, and collaborative development efforts.
• Experience with Tableau and Power BI for building insightful reports and dashboards.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of interacting with both business partners and technology teams.
• Familiarity with JSON data parsing, querying, and transforming for reporting and analysis.
• Experience with database performance tuning and the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
• Knowledge of Oracle database development is a distinct advantage.
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend is a plus.
• A Bachelor's degree in IT is required, with a Master's degree considered a plus.
• Completion of IT training in subjects related to database development, data modeling, ETL, and BI solutions.

Required Skills:
