Design, implement, and maintain high-performance databases supporting core banking and financial applications.
Optimize database performance, reliability, and security for large-scale transactional systems.
Manage database replication, clustering, and failover strategies for high availability.
Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies in compliance with bank policies.
Perform database capacity planning and scalability assessments.
Collaborate with application development teams to design efficient database schemas and stored procedures.
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, data privacy, and cybersecurity standards.
Manage data migration, upgrades, and patch deployments with minimal business disruption.
Develop automation scripts for database deployment and maintenance (using tools like Ansible, PowerShell, or Python).
Lead performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies for high-throughput systems.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior DBAs and developers.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Strong expertise in Oracle, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL (experience with at least two is preferred).
Proven experience in core banking systems databases (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, Flexcube, T24).
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning for large financial datasets.
Hands-on experience with database security, encryption, and auditing tools.
Familiarity with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS) and hybrid data architectures.
Strong understanding of banking data models, transactional systems, and financial reporting databases.
Experience with data replication tools (GoldenGate, AlwaysOn, etc.).
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Security, and Business teams.
