The Project
This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated infrastructure.
The Senior Design Manager – Architecture oversees consultant led architectural design across all project stages, ensuring compliance with the requirements, approved design briefs, scopes of work, and applicable technical standards.
The role provides design governance and multidisciplinary coordination, ensuring that architectural intent is maintained and appropriately integrated with structural, MEP, landscape and other specialist consultant inputs to deliver a coordinated, compliant, and construction ready design.
The role does not undertake design production and is responsible for reviewing, guiding, and assuring the quality, coordination, and deliverability of consultant design outputs, while supporting the Design Director in design leadership, technical assurance, cost alignment and execution readiness.
You'll Be Responsible For
- Oversees architectural design and ensures full multidisciplinary integration across structural, MEP, landscape and infrastructure.
- Acts as the primary coordination interface, resolving clashes early and aligning all design outputs.
- Manages consultant engagement, ensuring compliance with briefs, SOWs, standards and technical requirements.
- Implements design governance, including change control and structured coordination reviews.
- Reviews multidisciplinary submissions to ensure completeness, coordination and buildability.
- Leads design coordination meetings, tracking actions and resolving interface issues.
- Aligns design solutions with budgets, value targets and construction practicality.
- Monitors consultant performance and supports procurement, tender evaluations and contract management.
You'll Need To Have
- A degree in architecture, engineering, or a related design discipline (or equivalent qualification).
- Membership of RIBA, MICE, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS, CIAT or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience in leading multidisciplinary design coordination on large, complex projects.
