Role Overview: The Senior Design Engineer leads the structural design and analysis of streetlighting poles and related support structures, ensuring full compliance with international standards, client specifications, and project requirements.

The engineer collaborates closely with sales, production, and quality teams. He provides technical guidance throughout tendering and execution phases.

Mission: The Senior Design Engineer will be developing optimized designs; performing structural calculations for wind load, and fatigue conditions; and preparing detailed engineering documentation for submittals and approvals.

Job Description ( non-limitative)

Design & Calculations

Based on client's specifications and international standards, prepares the design analysis and calculation reports for the streetlighting and support structures including all the applicable wind loads, material strength, fatigue design and foundation sizing.

Deliverables

Develop optimized, safe, and costeffective designs, preparing complete engineering documentation such as calculation reports, drawings, and technical submittals.

Communicates project requirements with the sales team and the customer, clarifies where required to complete the design and material submittals, specification's compliance to acquire necessary approvals.

Support to Sales Function

Provide technical support during tendering, value engineering, and client technical clarifications. Attend external enquiries until completion.

Coordinate with Production

Submits detail manufacturing drawings to the production, quality, and supply chain teams to validate manufacturability, address design challenges, and support continuous improvement of products and design methods.

Coordinate with site teams during installation

Providing technical guidance, resolving structural or designrelated issues onsite, and ensuring installation aligns with approved engineering requirements and safety standards.

Profile & Background

Bachelor's degree in Civil - Structural or Mechanical Engineering

7 to 10 years of experience in equivalent positions

Background in poles, lighting or related industries.

Skills

Technical knowledge

International design codes including IBC, Eurocodes, AISC and ACI.

Experienced with loading from the ASCE-16 and the SBC 301-18 with knowledge about the material standards from ISO, ASTM and JIS.

Software knowledge

Structural analysis software including STAAD Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, SAP and ETABS.

Design software including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Connection design on IDEA StatiCa.

Foundation design using Prokon and STAAD Foundation.

Proficient in MS Office and other collaboration tools including Teams, Planner and Whiteboard.
