Senior Draftsman BIM

Job Overview:

Alogayell Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Senior Draftsman – BIM to join our team at our New Cairo office.

The successful candidate must have advanced technical drafting and BIM capabilities, strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, proven experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia, and advanced practical experience using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing, developing, and coordinating accurate architectural and engineering drawings from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation, in accordance with project requirements, BIM standards, and Saudi regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

-Prepare accurate architectural and multidisciplinary drawings from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation.

-Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and authority-submission drawings.

-Produce and update drawings using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.

-Create, manage, and maintain accurate BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.

-Convert design sketches, markups, calculations, and technical information into complete coordinated drawings.

-Prepare detailed drawings for architectural finishes, ceilings, flooring, doors, windows, stairs, wet areas, façades, and other building components.

-Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, landscape, interior design, and infrastructure disciplines.

-Identify drawing discrepancies, design conflicts, and model clashes and coordinate their resolution.

-Use Revit and Navisworks to support multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection.

-Ensure drawings and BIM models comply with the Saudi Building Code, municipality requirements, Civil Defense regulations, accessibility standards, and relevant Saudi authority guidelines.

-Ensure BIM models are properly structured, coordinated, and compliant with the project's BIM Execution Plan.

-Prepare and maintain Revit families, templates, drawing standards, title blocks, schedules, and model organization.

-Apply company drafting standards, naming conventions, line weights, annotation styles, and document-control procedures.

-Review drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, consistency, dimensions, and constructability before submission.

-Incorporate comments received from clients, authorities, consultants, and project managers.

-Prepare drawing registers, revision records, and submission packages.

-Support the preparation of bills of quantities, material schedules, and technical specifications when required.

-Assist with shop-drawing and as-built drawing reviews.

-Guide and review the work of junior draftsmen and BIM modelers.

-Ensure all assigned deliverables are completed according to the agreed scope, schedule, and quality standards.

Requirements:

-Diploma or bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting, or a related discipline.

-Minimum of 8 years of relevant drafting and BIM experience, preferably within architectural or engineering consultancy firms.

-Proven experience working on projects located in Saudi Arabia.

-Strong and up-to-date knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and Saudi authority requirements.

-Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is mandatory.

-Strong practical experience in BIM modeling, technical documentation, drawing production, model coordination, and clash detection.

-Good knowledge of BIM standards, naming conventions, model federation, Levels of Development (LOD), and BIM Execution Plans.

-Proficiency in Navisworks and other relevant coordination software.

-Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering designs, specifications, sketches, and technical instructions.

-Previous experience in commercial, office, hospitality, residential, mixed-use, or institutional projects is preferred.

-Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, technical detailing, and multidisciplinary coordination.

-Excellent drafting accuracy, technical judgment, and attention to detail.

-Strong organizational, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

-Good command of written and spoken English.

Ability to manage multiple drawing packages and meet demanding deadlines

Work Requirements:

-This is a full-time, office-based position.

-The selected candidate must work from our office in New Cairo, Egypt.

-Remote, hybrid, and freelance arrangements are not available for this position.

-Candidates must be able to work fully within a BIM-based project environment.
