About the Opportunity

A leading international shipping business is expanding its Dubai-based operations and is seeking an experienced shipping professional with a strong background in Multi-Purpose (MPP) and Heavy Lift vessel operations.

This is an opportunity to join an established and reputable shipping organisation with an international operating platform and contribute to the execution of complex cargo movements and voyage operations from its Dubai office.

The Role

The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on operational background across MPP and/or Heavy Lift shipping, with experience managing complex voyages and coordinating multiple stakeholders throughout the execution process.

Key responsibilities are expected to include:

• Managing day-to-day vessel and voyage operations across MPP and Heavy Lift vessels.
• Coordinating vessel nominations, voyage instructions and operational requirements.
• Managing loading and discharge operations, including complex and project cargo movements.
• Coordinating with owners, charterers, brokers, agents, terminals and other counterparties.
• Monitoring vessel performance, schedules and voyage execution.
• Reviewing and managing operational documentation and contractual requirements.
• Supporting freight, hire, port cost and other voyage-related settlements.
• Managing operational issues and providing timely solutions throughout the voyage.
• Working closely with commercial and chartering teams to ensure effective execution of fixtures.
• Supporting laytime, demurrage, claims and voyage close-out where required.
• Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5-10+ yrs proven experience within MPP and/or Heavy Lift shipping.
• Strong hands-on vessel operations experience.
• Exposure to project cargo, breakbulk, heavy lift or complex cargo movements.
• Good understanding of voyage execution and charter party requirements.
• Experience working closely with owners, charterers, brokers, agents and terminals.
• Strong commercial awareness alongside operational capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced international shipping environment.
• Ideally, existing experience within an established shipowner, operator or shipping organisation.
