We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join our multidisciplinary engineering and architectural consultancy. The successful candidate will lead the detailed design and coordination of electrical systems across a range of commercial, residential, hospitality, and mixed-use building projects.
This is a hands-on technical role with leadership responsibility, ideal for a professional with strong design expertise and experience working within a consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical designs including:
- Load calculations and demand analysis
- Single-line diagrams (SLDs)
- Power distribution layouts
- Lighting layouts and calculations
- Emergency power systems
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Develop specifications, schedules, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, NEC, BS) and local authority regulations
- Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, structural, and civil teams
- Develop and review BIM models (Revit preferred)
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs during construction
- Mentor junior designers and support team development
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 812 years of experience in electrical design within a consulting firm
- Strong experience in building services electrical systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM experience required)
- Experience with ETAP and lighting software (Dialux/Relux) preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
